Towering 77-Foot Lord Ram Bronze Statue Installed at Historic Goa Math

A 77-foot Lord Ram statue made of bronze has been installed in Goa. It is claimed to be the world's tallest statue of the deity. The event was part of the 550th anniversary of the historic Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math.

PM Modi said India is seeing a major cultural revival. He noted projects like the restored Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the new Kashi Vishwanath Dham are prominent examples of spiritual awakening. While mentioning India’s significant cultural revival, Prime Minister Modi also mentioned the expansion of the Mahakal Mahalok in Ujjain. He said this project showed the nation's newfound confidence. He also recounted the threats that Goa’s temples and traditions faced in the past and how the pressure could not weaken the society's deep-rooted spiritual soul. Instead, those circumstances only strengthened the community's resolve, he said.

Inauguration Marks 550 Years of Historic Math

The inauguration of the world's tallest Lord Ram statue coincided with a grand celebration. It was part of the 'Sardha Panchashatamanotsava' event at the Math. This ceremony marked the historic Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math's 550th anniversary. The Math, located in Partagali village, is one of India's oldest monastic institutions. It has played a central role in the Gowd Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnava community.

The institution adheres to the Dvaita philosophy, established in the 13th century. Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated a new Ramayana Theme Park Garden on the premises. He also released a special postal stamp and a commemorative coin for the occasion. The Math's long-standing legacy is that it has bravely endured centuries of upheaval and change. The institution continues to emerge as a spiritual center providing direction to countless devotees.
