Tourism and Cultural Minister, Jaiveer Singh, Plans on Making the Upcoming Diwali Celebration Grander Than Ever
Diwali, the festival of lights, is fast approaching, and Ayodhya is preparing for Deepotsav with great enthusiasm. Jaiveer Singh, the Tourism and Cultural Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has recently announced that this Diwali, over 26 lakh diyas will be lit, setting the stage for a new Guinness World Record.
Ayodhya’s Diwali Celebration Plans
Preparations for the upcoming Ayodhya Deepotsav are in full swing, with tenders for diyas, oil, wicks, and other related items for the festival already finalized. The Nagar Nigam Ayodhya is also making all necessary arrangements for sanitation, toilets, and decorations, which include constructing different welcome gates.
The festival will be celebrated from 18 October to 20 October. The event will feature a drone show, light show, and sound show, and over 26 lakh diyas lighting up the ghats of the river Saryu.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh has previously talked about the grandeur in harmony with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision to bring back the Ayodhya of the Treta Yuga. This year’s Deepotsav is supposed to be the grandest celebration ever and is expected to set several new records.
Modern Technology and Grand Cultural Shows
The Deepotsav celebration in Ayodhya is said to mix large-scale theatre and cutting-edge technology with traditional rituals. Modern elements include high-end drone shows that visually narrate episodes from the Ramayana by creating aerial images of Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Hanuman.
Some sources mention that around 1,100 drones will be deployed over the ghats and temples. Additionally, a 45-minute multimedia projection-mapping and laser show, staged at Ram Ki Paidi, is also going to be one of the key attractions. Other technological integrations include intelligent, dynamic colour-changing LED panels and multimedia projections adorning the main venues.
Deepotsav has also incorporated a virtual reality platform, which offers immersive experiences of Ayodhya's sacred sites. It allows the visitors to virtually see important locations like the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and Ram Ki Paidi. 40 jumbo LED screens are already installed across the city to broadcast the entire event live to a larger audience, marking the beginning of the great Indian festival.
