Panic Grips Parents as Delhi School Bomb Threat Triggers DPS Dwarka Evacuation, Delhi Police Begins Investigation
On Monday morning, three schools in Delhi, that is, Delhi Public School, Modern Convent, and Shreeram World School, were evacuated following a bomb threat sent by email. The situation caused panic among parents, staff, and students. Police and the bomb disposal squad rushed to the sites and had the buildings declared safe after thorough searches.
Immediate Actions Taken
The threats were made via email shortly after school classes had started. The school authorities promptly informed the police and initiated evacuation procedures. The students were shifted to open spaces and then released to their parents. No injuries or casualties were witnessed, although the number of children was shaken.
Delhi Police Commissioner has confirmed that three private schools in various city areas received the threats, and Quick Response Teams (QRTs), dog squads, and bomb detection squads were dispatched. Fire tenders and ambulances also arrived at the places as a precaution.
Parents Rush to Schools
As word spread, worried parents rushed to the schools, complaining that they were not directly informed by the authorities. However, many reached the schools through social media and WhatsApp groups. School traffic was halted as hundreds of people gathered, seeking clarity.
One of the parents stated, “We received a message from the school to take the children back. They did not tell the reason. So we have come here to take back our child.” Another parent appreciated the police for quick action but called for more monitoring of such threats.

Police Investigation
Police Authorities said the emails were probably hoaxes, but all threats were taken seriously. Cybercrime squads have been assigned to track down the origin of the emails. Preliminary checks found the messages came through several servers to cover the source.
One of the senior officers said, “All students and staff have been evacuated as a precautionary measure. Search operations are underway.”
Similar Past Incidents
This is not the first instance of Delhi schools receiving bomb threats. Previously, in May, a number of Delhi-NCR schools were targeted with similar emails, all of which were hoaxes. POlice had then tracked some of the threats to international servers, but no one was arrested.
Experts add that these frequent hoax threats interfere with education and generate unwarranted panic. Schools have begun to organize mock evacuation drills as a part of preparation for emergencies.
The Delhi Government has sought a detailed report from the police. Education officials have asked schools to be vigilant and inform parents at once of such a situation. Additional security has been enhanced around vulnerable institutions for the next few days.
Final Thoughts: Are Delhi Schools Truly Safe After Threat?
All three schools were declared safe, and classes were cancelled for the day. Police assured that there was no serious threat but emphasized that caution would remain.
Students, parents, and staff were allowed to return home. For many, it was a day of fear and confusion, but relief came with the assurance that no harm was done.
