Over 120 Hours of Perfection: Shakira Stuns in Custom Anamika Khanna at World Tour Kickoff

Shakira’s latest world tour, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, began with a moment of fashion history as she took the stage in Rio de Janeiro on February 11, 2025, wearing a stunning custom ensemble by Indian designer Anamika Khanna. This marks the first collaboration between Khanna and a global music icon for a world tour, celebrating the fusion of Indian craftsmanship with an international pop spectacle.

An Exquisite Blend of Tradition and Modernity

Shakira’s stunning two-piece consisted of a bralette top and layered skirt covered in intricate threadwork, beads and Swarovski crystals that she wore for her performance on Estadio Olímpico Nilton Santos. With the focus on its beat, Ojos Así, a song replete with Shakira’s musical heritage, was deeply influenced by Shakira’s sound and therefore, so was the red of the ensemble, ranging from the sensual rouge to the power-laden crimson to the explosive scarlet.

The outfit took over 120 hours to make and was customized to be in the red and Shakira’s signature sensuality, and fieriness. Anamika Khanna, who was known for her revolt from Indian fashion rules and for showing Indian workmanship to the global world, was overjoyed at having made Indian craftsmanship attend the worldwide stage. “To dress Shakira for this moment is an incredible honour. Her music, her artistry, and her presence on stage are magnetic. This look was designed to celebrate her energy—bold yet intricate, powerful yet delicate," said Khanna.

A Global Celebration of Indian Craftsmanship

The significance of the collaboration was highlighted not only by the founder of Maison Bose, Hema Bhose but also she was the driving force behind this placement. “Shakira is a force of nature—an artist who continues to redefine music, culture, and performance. This collaboration with Anamika Khanna represents the perfect synergy of tradition and innovation, where Indian craftsmanship meets global pop spectacle," said Bhose.

Along with that, she also thanked Shakira’s stylist, Nicolas Bru for his role in the collaboration, making the coupling a possibility.  “A special thanks to Nicolas Bru, whose extraordinary vision and attention to detail made this collaboration possible. His ability to craft iconic fashion moments for Shakira is unparalleled, and his passion for storytelling through style is truly inspiring," she added.

An Artistic Triumph on the World Stage

The historical fashion demonstration from Anamika Khanna delivered exceptional boundaries push among couture standards through her integration of Indian traditional artistry with modern international fashion trends. Shakira’s energetic stage appearance gained artistic respect through a design display that demonstrated Indian artistry at its best to audiences watching from across the globe.
