Nikki Bhati’s Father Says her Son Remains Traumatized Since his Mother was Set on Fire
It has been six days since the horrific murder of Nikki Bhati in Greater Noida over dowry demand. Nikki’s father, Bhikari Singh Payla, has repeatedly expressed sadness over the incident. Recently, he also shared how his seven-year-old grandson remains traumatized by the incident.

Recalling the haunting scenes, Nikki’s son said that they poured some liquid on her before setting her on fire with a lighter. The visuals of the murder have been deeply ingrained in the child’s mind, leading to deteriorating mental health.
Bhikari Singh Payla, while addressing NDTV, said, “I will bring him up as well as I can. He cries every evening thinking of his mother. He keeps saying, 'They burnt my mother.' We try to comfort him.”
Further adding, "My elder daughter (Kanchan) called and told me, 'Papa, Nikki ko jala diya. We reached the hospital, and the doctor told us she had suffered 70% burns…”
Desperate and helpless, he said, “I have lost everything. I lost my daughter, what is left now?”
Update on Noida Dowry Killing of Nikki Bhati
As per the latest update, the police have arrested Vipin Bhati, Rohit Bhati, Daya Bhati, and Satyavir Bhati. Vipin Bhati was shot in the leg by police as he tried to escape and was hospitalized. Later, he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
Payla has accused the Bhati family of harassing his daughter for money extortion. He said the demand for Rs. 36 lakh started soon after the marriage in 2016. The murderers demanded this amount despite getting a Scorpio and a motorcycle from Nikki’s father. The victim’s father has demanded that stringent action be taken against the entire family.
Nikki’s father regrets marrying her daughter to a criminal family; he is also concerned about his grandson’s mental health, as the victim’s son is under excruciating pain recalling the horrific incident. Payla has accused the entire Bhati family of his daughter’s murder and has requested serious actions against the murderers.
