The officials realised that the Sangli unit was part of a much larger network as the probe widened. Shaikh is a close aide of fugitive drug kingpin Salim Dola, who is a key member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch said that the lavish parties organised by Shaikh were allegedly attended by Dawood Ibrahim’s deceased sister Haseena Parkar’s son Alishah, actors Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor and her brother Siddharth Kapoor.

The police, in their remand application before a Mumbai court, also stated that film producers Abbas-Mustan, along with a few other celebrities, including rapper Loka, Orry, and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique, were allegedly present at the parties.

Investigators revealed that the facility was controlled by wanted drug trafficker Salim Dola and his son Taher. They received raw materials through a Surat-based associate.

According to the police, drugs were transported in luxury cars such as Mercedes and BMWs to avoid suspicion. The profits were channelled overseas via hawala routes.
