Admiral Tripathi also mentioned that the Navy has maintained a high operational readiness since the hostilities, and the swift and assertive action showcased its constant combat readiness posture.

The Role of the Carrier Battle Group in Deterrence

The Carrier Battle Group (CBG) is used in force projection across maritime domains. Its main purpose is to threaten or perform strikes on hostile territories or objects using air power from the carrier. Apart from this, the CBG conducts intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions

India's deployment of its dual-carrier capability during Operation Sindoor was a pivotal moment as it created a major maritime deterrent. This deployment ensured that the naval forces of Pakistan did not leave the harbors. As a result, the CBG successfully prevented them from accessing operational space along their western seaboard.
