Hollywood’s biggest names celebrate culture, talent, and legacy at NAACP Image Awards: Honerd by Vice President Kamala Harris

 

The 2025 NAACP Image Awards took place over two nights, with the winners announced on February 20th and February 22nd. The main ceremony, where many of the big winners like Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, and Kendrick Lamar were honored, aired live on Saturday, February 22nd at 8:00 PM ET/PT on BET and CBS

NAACP Image Awards were all about Black excellence for major wins from Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter, and Kendrick Lamar. Thus, the night was filled with great talents across the music, film, and entertainment industries.

Beyoncé thrice won the awards for Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Album for her country project, Cowboy Carter. These wins add to the glittering count of 17 NAACP Image Awards in her career. In a swift progression in her performance, Blue Ivy Carter won Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for her portrayal of Kiara in Mufasa: The Lion King. This serves as only her second NAACP Image Award, proving yet again that talent certainly runs in the family.

Kendrick Lamar was awarded Outstanding Song (Hip-Hop/Rap) for his piece Not Like Us. which completed an award-winning night for the artist after a Grammy and a jaw-dropping Super Bowl halftime show. As such, Kendrick's tenure as an icon within American music is continued.

 

Other Notable Winners

 

Rising artist Doechii was named Outstanding New Artist, adding to her growing recognition. Chris Brown secured Outstanding Male Artist, while Adam Blackstone & Fantasia won Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration.

The Netflix film The Six Triple Eight won Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture, with Ebony Obsidian earning Outstanding Breakthrough Performance for her role in the film.

 

NAACP Image Awards Continue to Inspire

 

These awards recognize outstanding Black achievements from artists, entertainers, and the many men and women of creativity.

The event was graced by Vice President Kamala Harris alongside comedian Dave Chappelle and the legendary Wayans family.

The grand finale will be on February 22, with a live telecast on BET and CBS from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The NAACP Image Awards thus continue the signature of making appearances star-studded while recording groundbreaking wins.
