Gangster Anmol Bishnoi Deported from US, Lands in Delhi; NIA Takes Charge of High-Profile Cases
On Wednesday, Lawrence Bishnoi’s younger brother, Anmol Bishnoi, the prime suspect in some of India’s most high-profile cases, landed in Delhi after he was deported from the United States.
He is allegedly accused of the murder of Baba Siddique and the Salman Khan house firing case. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly taken him to the Patiala House court for further legal proceedings.
Deportation Marks Major Breakthrough in Organised Crime Cases
The deportation of Anmol Bishnoi from the US is a major success, as he is one of India's most-wanted organised crime fugitives. His return marks a significant step for Indian agencies. The agencies are now attempting to dismantle the Bishnoi gang's expanding international network.
Anmol acted as Lawrence Bishnoi’s main overseas agent. He directed extortion rackets and coordinated assignments via encrypted channels. His presence abroad helped the syndicate build links with criminal groups. These groups were across West Asia, East Africa, and North America. Investigations could lead to crucial details about the syndicate's global operations.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ramesh Bishnoi, Anmol’s cousin, urged the Central government to ensure his brother’s safety. He said, “The law will take its course. Our family respects the law, and we are law-abiding people, but today our main concern is that if he (Anmol Bishnoi) is being brought to India, the Indian government should ensure his safety. This will be our demand.”
He further added, “We have always respected the law and will continue to do so... He (Anmol Bishnoi) is being punished only for being Lawrence Bishnoi's younger brother. The investigation will reveal everything.”
Anmol Bishnoi Wanted in Multiple High-Profile Cases Across India
Anmol Bishnoi faces numerous criminal cases across India. These cases are spread across Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab. He is the "main plotter" in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai. Bishnoi is also wanted in a case related to the firing at actor Salman Khan's residence.
Apart from this, officers state he provided logistical support for the shooters in the Sidhu Moosewala killing. He has been chargesheeted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in two cases. Mumbai Police Crime Branch has also chargesheeted him. The NIA had placed him on its Most Wanted List and announced a reward of Rs. 10 lakh for information leading to his arrest.
