Leaked Image Suggests Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Adopts a More Rounded iPhone-Inspired Look
Samsung has consistently maintained its smartphone design of sharp body edges throughout the years. However, a recent leaked image of the company’s upcoming flagship device, Galaxy S26 Ultra, showed the smartphone received design inspiration from Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The images were posted by Ice Universe, a famous leaker, on X (previously Twitter). Explore what it means to Galaxy lovers and how this major design upgrade is set to improve the overall user experience.
Rounded Corners Signal a Major Design Shift
Leaked images suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will adopt a more rounded design. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could share design elements with the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The leaked post displayed a side-by-side comparison of S26 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The resemblance between Samsung's new flagship and Apple's latest iPhone model is striking. S26 Ultra’s edges appear softer and more curved compared to the boxier look of the S23 and S25 lineup.
Interestingly, this design update is not just limited to the Ultra model. Ice Universe also shared some screen protectors for the Galaxy S26 lineup, hinting that the rounded aesthetic might extend across all models. If these leaked resources are true, this marks one of Samsung’s biggest design changes in years.
Launch Delay Rumors and Full S26 Lineup Changes
Rumors suggest that Samsung may delay the Galaxy S26 launch to 25 February. This date is nearly a month later than the Galaxy S25 release in January this year. The delay is expected to offer Samsung more time for production optimization amidst the rising cost of materials. The Galaxy S26 series, including Galaxy S26 Ultra, will most likely be launched at an event in San Francisco.
Industry insiders suggest this delay is linked to internal adjustments in the lineup. Samsung initially considered a major reshuffle of the lineup. They thought about replacing the base model with a "Pro" variant and introducing an Edge version.
However, following the mixed reception to the Galaxy S25 Edge, the company is said to have reverted. It reverted to its tried-and-tested trio: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The decision to cancel the S26 Edge has reportedly disrupted the company's production timeline.
