Mahindra Electric SUVs Get Digital Car Key Support via Samsung Wallet in India

Samsung has introduced a Digital Car Key support feature for some of Mahindra’s Electric SUV models in India. Galaxy smartphone users can now control a set of actions, including locking, unlocking, and starting the vehicle, all through the Samsung Wallet without using a physical key. 

With this advanced integration, Mahindra has become the first Indian Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to offer Samsung’s digital car key. Currently, the feature is available for models such as Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6. 

Seamless Access and Secure Sharing Features

Samsung Wallet Digital Car Key allows users with a Galaxy smartphone to lock, unlock, and start their vehicle without using a physical key. This feature is made available across all Galaxy devices to provide a seamless experience for electric SUV owners. The EV owners can even share their Digital Car Key temporarily with their friends and family. The digital key’s access can be easily managed from the app interface.

As far as security is concerned, Galaxy devices feature Samsung Knox's defense-grade platform, which uses biometric or PIN-based user authentication. Even if the device gets stolen, users can still lock or delete the Digital Car Key with the help of Samsung’s Find My Mobile service. This high level of safety measures makes sure that every interaction stays private and protected for the vehicle owner.

Mahindra, the First Indian OEM for Samsung Digital Key

The partnership led by Samsung and Mahindra achieves a major milestone in India's EV sector. Mahindra Group is the first Indian original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to include the Digital Car Key technology with Samsung Wallet. 

CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, said that this integration reinforces the company's vision. He mentioned, “Our Electric Origin SUVs – XEV 9e and BE 6 have captivated our customers with their advanced technology and futuristic designs.” The CEO further added, “We are delighted to partner with Samsung to bring yet another first-in-class feature - Digital Car key via Samsung wallet, ensuring every journey is even more seamless and convenient.”

Overall, the partnership aims to offer a tech-forward ownership experience for Indian electric SUV owners. Madhur Chaturvedi, Senior Director at Samsung India, also remarked that the expansion reflects the company's efforts towards modernization.
