Samsung’s New Beta Update Adds Gemini AI and Boosted Security to Galaxy Devices Before September Release
Samsung is now giving more Galaxy users a chance to try its new software early. The company has expanded the One UI 8 beta program to include more phones, tablets, and watches. This update is based on Android 16 and brings better performance, a fresh design, and smart new features.
More Devices Join the Beta Program
The One UI 8 beta first came out in May 2025 with the Galaxy S25 series. Now, Samsung is adding the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, along with the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. These models will get the beta update starting next week in countries like India, the US, the UK, and South Korea.
In September, the beta will reach even more devices. These include the Galaxy S23 series, last year’s Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, and mid-range phones like the Galaxy A36 5G, A55 5G, A35 5G, and A54. Samsung will also bring the update to tablets such as the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Tab S10 Ultra.
Samsung's smartwatches are also getting attention. The One UI 8 Watch update will come to more Galaxy Watch models later this year.
What’s New in One UI 8?
One UI 8 has many new features. It works better with AI and understands what the user is doing in real time. For example, with Galaxy Buds 3 or Buds 3 Pro, it’s now possible to use Google’s Gemini voice assistant just by speaking or long-pressing the earbuds.
The update also adds smoother multitasking, easier split-screen use, and better security. Apps like Calendar, Quick Share, and My Files have been improved. The camera app now has swipe controls and new filters.
Anyone with an eligible device can join the beta through the Samsung Members app. Just log in and sign up for the One UI 8 beta. The update will then appear in the phone’s Settings under Software Update.
The final version of One UI 8 will start rolling out in September. It will first come to the Galaxy S25 series and then reach other models over time.
This wider beta program shows that Samsung wants more users to test the software early and share feedback. It also gives fans of mid-range phones and tablets a chance to enjoy new features without waiting long.
