Blockbuster IPL Trade: Jadeja Agrees to Leave CSK, but RR Rejects Sam Curran in Samson Deal
According to the reports, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are playing at high stakes for Rajasthan Royals' (RR) captain, Sanju Samson. The deal would see CSK stalwart Ravindra Jadeja heading the other way, along with Sam Curran. However, RR is not entirely satisfied with the deal.
Dhoni's Crucial Talk Paves Way for Jadeja's Potential Exit
According to a report published by The Indian Express, Rajasthan Royals had been pushing hard for Ravindra Jadeja in exchange for Sanju Samson right from the beginning. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and the CSK coach Stephen Fleming also had long discussions with Jadeja over his departure to RR.
The report said “Dhoni was involved in the discussions with Jadeja to gauge his interest and only after the all-rounder too agreed on a move to Rajasthan that further talks took shape.” After Jadeja’s agreement, RR further demanded Shivam Dube but was immediately disregarded by the five-time champions. CSK offered a counter proposal with Sam Curran as an alternative, which appears unsatisfactory to RR.
Rajasthan Royals' Holdout: Sam Curran is Not Enough for the Samson Trade
As far as the IPL trade talks are concerned, Sanju Samson has been in the spotlight for months now, owing to his strong batting performance and an incredible strike rate of 153.47 in the recent IPL season. The Rajasthan team has requested providing them with the Sri Lankan fast bowler, Matheesha Pathirana, for losing Samson to CSK, but the latter is not happy.
To sum up, the trade discussions about Ravindra Jadeja’s potential move to the Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Sanju Samson, along with Sam Curran, are creating buzz among the IPL fans.
Chennai is motivated to secure a long-term Indian wicketkeeper-batter and future captain in Samson. The team considers it a necessary step, provided the evolving dynamics of the squad. On the other hand, Rajasthan approves of the all-rounder Jadeja, but remains unsatisfied with the second player offered in the bargain.
