Recently, the news about Sanju Samson’s departure from Rajasthan Royals to Chennai Super Kings has been a major topic of discussion among cricket enthusiasts. Samson played for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for 11 years straight. However, he has recently asked RR either to release him from the franchise or to allow him to participate in the upcoming IPL auction.

Are KKR & CSK Interested in Buying Sanju Samson?

Both Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have expressed their interest in trading with Rajasthan Royals for Sanju Samson. CSK is in the frontline in the bidding process, though the probability of Samson joining the Yellow Army seems relatively low at the moment.

A report from Cricbuzz also said that Manoj Badale, one of the lead owners of Rajasthan Royals, asked for either Ravindra Jadeja or Ruturaj Gaikwad in exchange for Sanju Samson. However, CSK has refused this proposal.

The report said, “With the letters sent directly to franchise owners, details have largely stayed under wraps. However, it is learnt that a potential trade with the Chennai Super Kings - widely speculated in recent days - could be a long shot, as the Royals are believed to have asked for either Ravindra Jadeja or Ruturaj Gaikwad, both deal-breaking terms that the Super Kings are not ready to entertain.”

Is Rajasthan Royal Willing to Trade Off Samson for Shivam Dube?

After CSK’s refusal to trade Ravindra Jadeja or Ruturaj Gaikwad for Sanju Samson, RR further displayed curiosity in Shivam Dube. Unfortunately, the five-time champion refused this proposal as well.

The report said “Shivam Dube's name has also cropped up in some quarters, but Chennai are unwilling to part with the India all-rounder either.” 

The departure of Jos Buttler from the team inspired Samson’s decision to leave the Rajasthan Royals. He requested RR to either release him or let him appear in the IPL auction. As a result, RR owner Manoj Badale asked to trade Ravindra Jadeja or Ruturaj Gaikwad in exchange for Samson. However, CSK has rejected this request. For now, the chances of Samson joining CSK are low.
