The auction for the Women's Premier League 2026 season has finally come to an end. With record-breaking bids, shocking omissions, and massive tactical shifts, including a former title-winning captain joining a rival team, the power balance has dramatically changed.

Key Auction Highlights and Biggest Buys

Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma emerged as the most expensive signing of the day. UP Warriorz used their Right to Match (RTM) card to retain her. She was secured for Rs. 3.20 crore, making her the second-highest-paid Indian. Amelia Kerr from New Zealand was the top overseas buy, for Rs. 3 crore to the Mumbai Indians. UP Warriorz were highly active with the largest purse of Rs. 14.5 crore. They brought back Kranti Gaud and the world’s number one spinner Sophie Ecclestone using RTM cards.

Delhi Capitals were aggressive, adding Laura Wolvaardt for Rs. 1.10 crore. They also secured Chinelle Henry and Sree Charani for Rs. 1.30 crore each. Gujarat Giants picked the experienced Sophie Devine for Rs. 2 crore. The auction featured intense competition for several marquee players. A total of 67 players were successfully acquired by the five franchises.
