ACC Chief Puts a Condition on Handing Over the Trophy

According to a report from Cricbuzz, Mohsin Naqvi has expressed willingness to return the trophy and medals only if Suryakumar Yadav and his team members can receive them from him at a formal function.

The report claims that the ACC Chief informed the organizers about this. However, the possibility of this event is doubtful, given the current political situation between India and Pakistan.

What was the Response of BCCI Secretary, Devajit Saikia?

Devajit Saikia, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has responded to the gesture of the ACC Chief. He said, “We have decided not to take the trophy from the ACC Chairman, who happens to be one of the main leaders of Pakistan.” He further added, “That does not mean the gentleman will take away the trophy with him, along with the medals. It is very unfortunate, very unsporting.”
