OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open to Receive Android 15 Beta Upgrade

OnePlus announced on Wednesday that its flagship OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open will be among the first smartphones to receive the new Android 15 Beta 1 update. Starting May 16 (Wednesday), developers and early adopters will be able to test new features and APIs on their OnePlus devices by getting the OxygenOS developer version built around Android 15 Beta 1.

Android 15 prioritizes improving camera capabilities and media experiences, as well as connectivity. It also offers new APIs for developers to build advanced apps. The operating system (OS) offers various features, such as Low Light Boost and in-app camera control.

Furthermore, it offers additional expansion, giving users the tools and hardware they need to bring their vision to the forefront; Android 15 updates for applications allow access to the latest developments in communication. This provides results such as a smooth NFC experience, among other improvements.

"OnePlus and Google have had a strong partnership for quite some time, continuing to work together to deliver the best possible experience through a series of versions of our OxygenOS-based Google Android operating system," the president of OnePlus and COO Kinder Liu said in a statement.

OnePlus Open and How to Download and Install Android 15 Beta on OnePlus 12

  • Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the OnePlus community site.
  • Upgrade the ROM upgrade package to the phone’s storage.
  • Go to Settings. Tap -> About the device -> Version -> Build number seven times and enter the password to enter developer mode.
  • Settings -> About Device -> Update -> Click the top right button -> Local Install -> Select the corresponding installation package -> Extract -> Upgrade -> Make the system upgrade to 100% complete.
  • When the upgrade is complete, tap Restart. Now, you are ready to use the latest Android 15 OS.
