The Assam government recently announced that Zubeen Garg’s ashes will be distributed through online portals. They also plan to pay homage to the legendary singer by building a memorial in Kamarkuchi.

Zubeen’s sudden demise during his trip to Singapore shocked his fans, celebrities, and politicians all over India. The fatal incident took place when he was scuba diving in the Singapore sea. The singer was immediately taken out of the water and rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved.


Assam Government Plans to Build Zubeen Garg’s Memorial 


The death of the renowned singer Zubeen Garg has saddened people across India. The Assam government, as a way of paying tribute to the singer, has planned to distribute his ashes to both individuals and organisations using an online application system. The government has also decided to build a memorial at the place where he was cremated.

The officials have been ordered to safeguard Zubeen Garg’s cremation ground as soon as possible. Additionally, Rano Pegu, the Minister of Education, Welfare of Plain Tribe & Backward Classes, has ordered an online portal to manage the distribution of Zubeen’s ashes.

He said, “The Assam government will open a simple portal through which organisations and institutions can apply to obtain the ashes of their beloved artist. The Cultural Department will look after it.”

Millions of people gathered in Kamarkuchi waited in long queues under the scorching sun to pay final tributes to the deceased singer. On Monday, Zubeen’s fans crowded Arjun Bhogeshwar Baruah Sports Complex, waiting for hours under the burning sun, to pay homage.

Zubeen’s family also brought his four beloved dogs to the Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati, the funeral site. The dogs named Iko, Maya, Rambo, and Diya were held close by Garima Garg, the singer’s wife, as she came to bid farewell to her husband. The dogs were taken near Zubeen Garg’s dead body and were shown his face, which created an emotional moment at the funeral.
