Vinod Kambli is Struggling with Speech, Unable to Walk: Virendra Kambli Asks to Pray for Him
Vinod Kambli’s brother, Virendra Kambli, has shared an update on his health condition. He informed about Vinod’s discharge from the hospital after receiving complete treatment. His brother said that Vinod is facing difficulties in speaking and walking, but he is a fighter and will come out of it stronger than before.
Last year, before Kambli was hospitalized, the entire nation was shocked by his deteriorating health condition. He became lean and struggled to walk properly, and shortly after this, he was diagnosed with a clot in the brain.
What Did Kambli’s Brother Say?
Virendra Kambli is deeply concerned about his brother's health and desperately pleaded for prayers. He said, “He is at home right now. He is getting stable, but his treatment is ongoing. He is having difficulty speaking. It will take him time to recover. But he is a champion, and he will come back. He will start walking and running, hopefully. I have a lot of faith in him. I hope you can see him back on the ground.”
Kambli was hospitalized for 10 days, underwent a full-body check-up, and the results were satisfactory. But he couldn’t walk properly, which is why he had to undergo further physiotherapy.
In his current condition, Vinod slurs while speaking, but fortunately, he is getting better, said his brother. He also asked people to pray for his health and that he needs their love and support in this difficult time.
Was Vinod Kambli Better than Tendulkar?
Virendra Kambli has also discarded a widespread claim that Vinod was better than Sachin. He said that he never heard his brother make such a claim. During an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Virendra said, “Both had the same talent,” and “You can’t say my brother was greater than Sachin or vice versa. They were both the same. I never heard my brother say he was better than Sachin.”
He also added that Sachin is still a great friend of his brother and has always supported him. He regularly checks Vinod’s health.
Vinod Kambli is probably the only batsman in the history of Indian cricket who is compared with Tendulkar. Some considered his performance even better than Tendulkar's; unfortunately, his peak didn’t last long.
The great batsman has been facing serious health problems for the past few years. He became lean and lost his mobility as he was diagnosed with a brain clot. However, according to his brother Virendra Kambli, he is getting better over time.
