Asia Cup Final 2025: Suryakumar Wanted to Show the Difference Between India & Pakistan
India has recently registered a win in the finals of the Asia Cup 2025 held on 28 September 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium. The team celebrated the victory with five wickets to spare. Pakistan players, on the other hand, looked frustrated and continued to act out throughout the match by provoking Indian players using cheap tricks.
Suryakumar Yadav's Response to Pak Provocations
Post-match, Suryakumar Yadav was interviewed by NDTV. The host, Boria Majumdar, asked the Indian skipper how he was able to handle Pakistan’s provocations with a cool head. Yadav bluntly replied, saying, “There has to be a difference.”
The captain said, “We never made any gesture, no hand movements. We wanted to play the game with dignity. They wanted to make a statement outside. The result can go in any team's favour.”
He further added, “When you come back, you should be happy with the effort you gave, the game you played.” The Indian skipper also advised his teammates to keep their emotions in check, play a good game, and accept the outcome of the match as it is.
Suryakumar Yadav Appreciates BCCI’s Support
While expressing his opinion about Pakistan players' provocative gestures, Suryakumar Yadav also recognized the support the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) provided. He thanked the BCCI for backing the Indian team throughout the entire course of the Asia Cup 2025.
The Indian skipper said, “It is such a big board, so many players, such a big country. The BCCI stood ahead of us, gave us ample support. Hence, it’s the players’ duty to give it back to the board by playing good cricket and winning trophies.” He also discussed his time exploring the facility centre (Centre of Excellence in Bangalore) during his injuries.
Suryakumar Yadav said the following about the overall facility: “The facilities were designed for the players. We had not played cricket for three or four months, but it didn't look like players were coming into the Asia Cup on the back of big gaps, all thanks to BCCI's facilities.”
To sum up, India faced Pakistan three times during the Asia Cup 2025 and won all three games. During these three matches, Pakistan tried to unnerve Indian players with various gestures. In the Asia Cup 2025 Final, they utilized the same strategy but lost to India by five wickets.
