SCC Phase 13 Admit Cards to be Released Tomorrow for Aspirants Eligible for Re-exam
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examinations are national-level competitive exams conducted every year to recruit for Group B and Group C posts in different departments. This year as well, the exams were conducted per usual; however, nearly 59,000 SSC candidates faced technical glitches during the examinations.
This has pushed the government to schedule SSC re-exams for such candidates between 24 July and 2 August. The SSC Chairman, S Gopalakrishnan, made the announcement public on Monday.
Re-Exam Announced for Affected Candidates
The chairman has also informed about the postponement of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exams that were supposed to be held on 13 August. The new dates for this exam are announced to be mid-September, i.e., between 10 September and 20 September. He added that this is to “resolve the matters, retest the solution, and improve operational matters.”
S Gopalakrishnan also said that “A detailed log analysis has been done and about 59,000 aspirants have been identified for whom three special exam shifts have been scheduled on 29 August 2025.”
Protests Prompt Official Response
These announcements from the SSC chairman came after a massive protest by SSC aspirants and coaching teachers. As the protest turned chaotic and seemed uncontrollable, the police had to use “lathi charge” and held about 40 people.
An SSC aspirant from UP, in response to these brutal physical assaults by the police, said that “Police came to disperse us and beat us brutally when we were demanding smooth conduct of SSC exams. I was physically assaulted by Delhi Police constables.”
He said, “We had permission for two days, but police officials are lying that we had permission until 5 p.m. on Sunday.”
In reply to these accusations, one of the senior police officers said no lathi charge was done and that the permission was granted till 5 pm on 24 August. Contrary to the allegations, he blamed the violent protesters who caused physical injuries to five police personnel.
Many political leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, have condemned the use of police force against students in such a brutal way. He shared the following tweet on X: “The brutal lathi charge on SSC aspirants and teachers peacefully protesting in Ramleela Maidan - not just shameful, but the hallmark of a cowardly government.”
