PTI Agency reported that three masked men entered the SBI bank pretending to open a current bank account. However, as soon as they entered the bank, they took out their knives and pistols and locked up the working staff in the toilet. They ensured that the staff was handicapped by tying their hands and legs.

Finally, they forced the bank manager to open the gold and cash deposit box. After collecting over 20 kg of gold and Rs. 1 crore cash, the robbers ran away in their Suzuki EVA. To conceal their identity, they used a fake number plate for this vehicle. It is reported that these men ran towards Pandharpur, a pilgrimage town in Maharashtra.

A similar robbery occurred a few months ago at the Canara Bank’s Managuli branch, where Rs. 53.26 crore worth of gold and cash was stolen in the same district of Vijapura. This latest bank robbery has raised serious concerns over the bank's safety. The police officials are actively searching for these criminals and have promised to arrest them as early as possible.
