In a powerful display of industry solidarity, Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have officially stepped forward to assist veteran comedian Rajpal Yadav, who is involved in staggering Rs. 9 crore debt. This life-changing support comes just days after Yadav surrendered to Tihar Jail following a decade-long legal battle over a loan default.

The intervention by these actors marks a critical turning point for Yadav. They want to help him get bail during his court hearing on 12 February 2026.

A Movie Project That Led to Big Legal Trouble

The trouble started in 2010 when Rajpal Yadav borrowed Rs. 5 crore to make his own movie called Ata Pata Laapata. Sadly, the movie did not make money at the box office, so he could not pay the loan back. Over time, the loan amount grew to Rs. 9 crore with interest.

As reported by The Times of India, Rajpal Yadav’s manager, Goldie, shared how the industry is helping: "A lot of people have reached out to help Rajpal Yadav. Actors like Sonu Sood, Salman Khan, and Ajay Devgn have extended their support... The good thing is that after his situation worsened, the industry has stood behind him like a rock."

Other stars like Varun Dhawan and Sonu Sood are also helping. A music producer named Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav has promised to give Rs. 1.11 crore to help clear the debt.

How Will the Rajpal Yadav Debt Support Package Work?

The stars are sending money directly to the court. This proves to the judge that the debt is being paid seriously. For example, Sonu Sood gave him a job in a new movie and paid him a ‘signing amount’ upfront. This helps Rajpal earn money with dignity instead of just taking a gift.

The goal here is to show the court a clear payment plan. If the judge is satisfied with the repayment from Salman and Ajay, Rajpal could be released very soon. His family is hopeful that he will be home early to attend his niece’s wedding, which is scheduled on 19 February.

This incident shows that Bollywood stars take care of their industry colleagues during hard times. It is a rare second chance for Rajpal Yadav to fix a mistake from 16 years ago. In the future, this case might change how actors borrow money for movies. For now, the industry is watching to see if this help will finally end his long legal nightmare.
