PAK Air Force Targets Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, a Militant Group Operating at the Afghan-Pakistan Border
Pakistan conducted air strikes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near Tirah valley on Monday, killing 30 civilians. The Pakistan Air Force intended to target Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) bases, which were supposedly hiding in this region. The air strike was executed at 2 a.m., which involved dropping eight LS-6 bombs in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Details of Pakistan’s Airstrike
Pakistan’s airstrike is attracting widespread condemnation from around the world. Isabelle Lassee, who is a Deputy Regional Director for South Asia at Amnesty International, a global human rights organization, commented on the casualty.
Isabelle said, “Pakistani authorities have failed to take action to protect the lives and property of civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who continue to pay the price of an escalating number of drone strikes in the province.” She further added, “Last Friday's drone strike, killing one child, is part of an alarming series of attacks which have escalated since March of this year.”
Many counter-terrorist operations have been performed near the Tirah Valley. The local police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa village reported around 605 terror incidents between just January and August. During these incidents, 217 people were killed, including civilians and police officials.
PAK Terrorists are Shifting Bases After Operation Sindoor
Terrorists from Pakistan are shifting camps after some of their hideouts were destroyed in India’s Operation Sindoor. The Indian strike demolished nine terrorist hideouts in the PoK region and those based across Pakistan.
After these attacks, the terrorists started moving towards Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as this terrain offers a natural hiding place. The place is attached to the Afghanistan border, providing terrorists with an additional advantage. Additionally, this province still has some hideouts that were built during the anti-Soviet Afghan war.
Overall, the death of civilians in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region near Tirah valley has raised concerns over Pakistan’s Air Force attack. The global human rights organization Amnesty International has said Pakistan has failed to save innocent civilians and their properties. The rescue operations are still being carried out in the region, and the number of deaths might be significantly higher than the present number.
