AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaise Shares His Views on Potential Alliances in Bihar and ‘I Love Mohammad’ Controversy
Asaduddin Owaisi has expressed willingness to join the Rashtriya Janata Dal for the upcoming Bihar elections in November 2025. The Lok Sabha MP from AIMIM has also confirmed that his party leaders in Bihar have tried to communicate with the RJD leaders regarding the proposal. Owaisi further mentioned that it is up to the RJD to decide whether to fight BJP and JDU together.
Owaisi Wants to Join RJD for Upcoming Bihar Elections
During a recent interview with NDTV, the AIMIM chief was asked about the party’s alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). To which he replied that it would be too early to conclude about the matter at the moment. However, Owaisi confirmed that he had written to the RJD founder, Lalu Prasad Yadav, but had not communicated with the Congress yet. Owaisi said, “Our doors are not closed, but we cannot be waiting forever.”
The AIMIM Chief also invited the Rashtriya Janata Dal to fight elections in Hyderabad. His confirmation came after RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav claimed they hadn’t received any message from Asaduddin Owaisi. In response, the Hyderabad lawmaker said that his party’s Bihar chief, Akhtarul Iman, wrote to both Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son.
He mentioned, “Our Bihar chief, Akhtarul Iman, had written to Lalu ji stressing that the BJP doesn't return to power again in Bihar.” Owaisi said his party offered an alliance in the larger interest, to strengthen secularism, despite the RJD stealing four of their MLAs.
Owaisi on ‘I Love Mohammad’ Controversy
During the same interview, Owaisi discussed his party’s political alliances in Bihar and addressed the ongoing boycott of the Muslim community at Garba events. Furthermore, he discussed the “I Love Mohammad” controversy, illegal immigration, and issues associated with Ladakh.
He responded to the trending controversy by saying, “If someone says, ‘I Love You,’ then what's the problem? What's the problem with writing 'love'?” He further added, “What message do you want to send to Muslim countries around the world with this? What's the problem with ‘I Love Mahadev’? It should be done; it's their faith. This is a way of socially boycotting Muslims.”
