India monitors fallout as Iran strikes Israel after US bombing of nuclear sites

Iran fired more than 40 missiles at Israel on Sunday morning, hours after three of its most important nuclear facilities were bombed by the US. The projectiles included the Khorramshahr-4. This is Iran’s most advanced ballistic missile, with a 1,500-kg warhead that can reach 2,000 kilometres.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard verified the attack, describing it as a clear response to the US-led Operation Midnight Hammer. This operation targeted nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. State television broadcast video of what it said was the Khorramshahr-4 being fired, as Iran threatened ‘everlasting consequences.’

Areas Targeting Civilians in Tel Aviv!

The missiles allegedly destroyed much of the residential and commercial areas in Tel Aviv. A shopping center, a bank, and a beauty salon were some of the locations targeted. The streets were littered with glass and rubble, with at least 11 people reported to have been injured.

“I’m fortunate I wasn’t at home,” remarked a man who had his house reduced to rubble in the explosion. Damaged roads were shut down by emergency personnel, and cleanup efforts were initiated as Israeli defence forces evaluated the destruction.

US Strike Was Initiated from Missouri

The US attack, ordered by President Donald Trump, used B-2 stealth bombers to make a 37-hour round trip from Missouri. The planes dropped 14 bombs and launched Tomahawk missiles to target Iran’s nuclear capabilities and cripple them. Trump described it as a ‘spectacular military success.’
Pentagon officials quoted that the attack was meant to spare civilians and was carried out with deception maneuvers to ensure surprise.

India Denies Role in US Airstrike Route

Amid rumors that American bombers flew through Indian airspace, the government of India denied any role. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) described the report as ‘fake,’ referencing Pentagon briefings indicating other flight trajectories.

US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine affirmed that all planes skirted Indian skies, debunking social media rumors.

Iran to Close Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s parliament has voted to shut the Strait of Hormuz, a critical choke point for international oil shipments. Though the ultimate decision belongs to Iran’s supreme security council, the action marks a sign that Tehran is preparing to raise the stakes.

With Iran’s nuclear facilities battered and civilian zones targeted for the first time by Israel, the prospects for de-escalation are low. Tehran’s message has been clear: it will not accept a blow without delivering a counterpunch.
