The Role Must be Right, and Voiced Over! Lee Da Hee Eyes Indian Cinema

Lee Da Hee has a genuine need to enter the Indian entertainment world to expand her career beyond typical roles. Lee Da Hee recognizes her past successes and their appropriateness, but she will look for roles with different degrees, or colors, to show off her range as an actress.

Lee Da Hee wants to work in India

The 40-year-old actress, who is known for playing strong and independent characters in her dramas such as The Beauty Inside, Search: WWW, and The Divorce Insurance, noted that characters like those come easily to her: “I’ve played so many strong, intense characters, as they are who I relate to and seemingly match my personality. I could easily figure them out with no additional preparation as I had a lot of similarities with their characters.”

Lee Da Hee, like a few other South Korean actors, has expressed interest in working on an Indian project. Although, she has one condition. "If I go to work in India, would I have to speak the language there, or is it okay if we voiceover? If I can do a voiceover, I’d give it a shot," she commented in an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times.

From Supporting Roles to Leading Lady

Da Hee believes it's time for her to reinvent her career, which has spanned over twenty years. “I’ve played similar characters many times before. They are all popular and all fit me as well, but I feel, you know, the time has come for me to try out a character with completely different shades,” she says with a smile.

In the drama, the actor plays a mathematician who is a divorcee. So what is the one piece of relationship advice she would give her fans? “Don’t give up everything in your marriage, because your marriage is not the only important thing in your life,” Da Hee responds in an easy-going manner.

Conclusion

South Korean actress Lee Da Hee longs to delve into diverse roles in India beyond her typical portrayals of resilient, self-assured women. Should the opportunity arise, she would welcome it while requesting dubs, as she recognizes linguistic obstacles may impede her. This simultaneous yearning for professional evolution and pragmatic awareness exemplifies her multifaceted approach to acting.
