Fans Get Excited as Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 Trailer Releases

Rishab Shetty’s long-awaited prequel to the iconic Kantara movie, released in 2022, is out. The actor previously received the Best Actor National Award for his outstanding performance in the movie Kantara. The Kannada film also won a trophy for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment at the 70th National Film Awards.

How Does the Trailer Look?

The trailer shows that “Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1” will explore the myths, folklore, and rituals of the Bhuta Kola. Bhuta Kola is a traditional worship associated with the people of Karnataka, especially those situated in the coastal regions. The trailer implies that the main story of the movie will be about the conflict between the monarchy and the primitive people living in the forest.

The film stars Rishab Shetty, Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, and Jayaram. Devaiah, a Bollywood actor, will portray the role of a king and be the main antagonist. He became popular after his roles in Shaitan, Hunterrr, and Hate Story.

Rishab Shetty’s Take on the Kantara Franchise 

Rishab Shetty shared some insights about Kantara after its shooting was over. He said: “I have a dream. To tell the story of my land to the whole world. Our village. Our people. Our beliefs. When I chose to pursue that dream, thousands stood with me. Three years of hard work. Two hundred and fifty days of shooting.”

Talking about the hard work and the amount of time they dedicated to producing this Kannada movie, he said, “No matter the challenges I have faced, the faith never let go of me. My entire team, my producers, they were my backbone. Every day, as I looked out to the thousands who had gathered to work, one thought kept coming back to me.” HE further added, “This is not just a film. This is a divine force. Welcome to the world of Kantara.”

Kantara created a big buzz at the box office with a small budget of Rs. 16 crore and collected over Rs. 411 crore worldwide. After its success, the Kantara team was called the superstar Rajinikanth and praised for creating such a masterpiece. Kantara Chapter 1 will be released worldwide on 2 October 2025 in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, English, and Malayalam.
