Ranbir Kapoor is creating buzz yet again as news of his involvement in Dhoom 4 grabs attention. The Bollywood star, currently working on his upcoming film Love and War, is set to start shooting for the much-awaited sequel to the Dhoom franchise next April, according to reports from India Today Digital.
Sources close to the production revealed that Kapoor will adopt a unique look for the action thriller. "Kapoor will need to have a different look for Dhoom 4, and before starting that, he will wrap up his two existing projects," a source said. The film is expected to go on floors in April 2025.
The production team is reportedly searching for two female leads and an antagonist for the film. Industry insiders suggest that the antagonist might be cast from the South Indian film industry. However, no official confirmation regarding the cast has been made.
The Dhoom franchise, produced by Yash Raj Films, is one of Indian cinema's most successful action film series. The last installment, Dhoom 3, featuring Aamir Khan as the antagonist, earned ₹557 crore worldwide and cemented the series’ status as a blockbuster franchise. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprised their iconic roles as Jai Dixit and Ali Khan, with Katrina Kaif and Tabrett Bethell in supporting roles.
