Kashmiri Admits Indian Strikes in Operation Sindoor Destroyed Bahawalpur Bases and Killed Masood Azhar’s Family Members
A new video of Jaish-e-Muhammad commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri has created a stir. In the clip, Kashmiri says that Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir ordered top officers to attend the funerals of terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor.
He explains that Pakistan’s General Headquarters asked corps commanders to wear their uniforms, join the funeral processions, and give the final salute. According to Kashmiri, the army treated slain militants like soldiers. This statement, if true, shows direct support of terrorists by the Pakistan Army.
Masood Azhar’s Role in Terror Strikes
Kashmiri also spoke about Masood Azhar, the head of Jaish-e-Muhammad. He confirmed Azhar’s role in attacks in Delhi and Mumbai. Kashmiri said that after Azhar escaped from Tihar Jail in Delhi, he returned to Pakistan and used Balakot as his base. From there, he planned many strikes.
In another part of the video, Kashmiri admitted that Indian forces hit Bahawalpur in May during Operation Sindoor. He said the strikes destroyed terror bases and killed many members of Azhar’s family, including women and children. He described the losses as devastating.
Operation Sindoor and India’s Response
Operation Sindoor was India’s response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. That attack killed 26 civilians, mostly tourists. And so, under orders of retribution, joint strikes were carried out by the Army, Navy, and Air Force of India. They targeted nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The sites included Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muridke, from which groups like Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba operated.
India said the strikes were precise and did not harm civilians. Pakistan admitted that people died, but did not accept that the places were terror hideouts.
Ilyas Kashmiri’s words have added pressure on Pakistan. His open statement links the country’s top military leadership with terror groups. Videos and photos have also appeared showing Pakistani officers at funerals of slain militants.
Indian officials are likely to present these clips and photos to international bodies. Sources suggest that India may prepare a dossier for the Financial Action Task Force. The aim will be to push for action against Pakistan for funding and supporting terrorism.
The video has now become one of the clearest claims against the Pakistan Army. By naming Asim Munir and confirming Masood Azhar’s role, Kashmiri has exposed the ties between the army and terror outfits.
