Saif Ali Khan Stabbing: Suspect's Fingerprints, Shocking Confession, and a Family's Plea
The sensational stabbing case of Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has taken a new turn. On January 24, the Mumbai Police announced a breakthrough in the January 16 stabbing case. Post the forensic analysis, it has been confirmed that the fingerprints found in Khan’s residence at multiple locations match those of Shariful Sharif, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, arrested in connection with the crime, also said to be allegedly living in India illegally.
Forensic Testimony
Investigations in the case have led to the discovery of multiple fingerprints of Fakir’s print on the duct pipe, the bedroom knob, the bathroom door of Saif Ali Khan’s 11th-floor apartment. The suspect has also been tied to a white bag recovery, discarded near Bandra, Talao by the police that contained various tools, a broken knife fragment and These discoveries have further strengthened the case against Fakir, who allegedly broke into the Bollywood actor’s home and attacked him in a burglary attempt.
Crime Confession and Scene Reconsconstruction
During the scene reenactment, suspect Fakir demonstrated to the cops how he extracted entry into the star’s high-rise building. According to reports, Fkir scaled a 4-foot wall to enter Khan’s Satguru Sharan building premises and later used a ladder to climb 12 stories to access the duct leading to Saif’s home where he cut through a rat mesh. He later ascended to the 10th floor via a staircase, climbing through a duct pipe leading to Saif Ali Khan’s son Jehangir’s 11th-floor apartment bathroom. Moreover, Fakir used the same steps to trace his escape post the attack.
Fakir Family in Denial
Despite the investigations further solidifying, Mohammad Rohul Amin, Fakir’s father, speaking from Bangladesh refuted the claims that tie his son as the prime suspect to the Saif Ali Khan stabbing ordeal. He further moved on to point out the discrepancies in the suspect’s appearance, stating, Shariful is not the one shown in the photo the police released after the incident. The man in the photo had long hair touching his eyes. Shariful has short hair raised upwards.” Rohul acknowledged his son's illegal entry into India and other minor offences but insisted, “We may be poor, but we are not criminals.
Statement By Fakir
The prime perpetrator in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, Fakir has reportedly confessed his involvement in the crime, expressing his remorse over the whole incident and a failed attempt to steal from Khan's residence. He told the police, Had I succeeded in stealing money or valuables from Saif's flat, I would have fled to Bangladesh the same day. I request the police to deport me to my home country.
Saif Ali Khan’s Current Health Update
Saif Ali Khan, who sustained six stab wounds including one very serious near his spinal cord, underwent surgery. Post a successful surgery, the star is now discharged from the hospital and is recovering at home. The police have recovered a white bag containing various tools and a broken knife fragment, believed to have been discarded by Fakir near Bandra Talao. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to build a comprehensive case against the suspect.
