Garbage Should Be Taken Away’: Minister’s Controversial Jab at Saif Ali Khan

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed during a burglary at his Mumbai home, suffering six knife wounds, including one near his spinal cord, according to doctors at Lilavati Hospital. While recovering, the incident took a controversial turn as Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane questioned the authenticity of the attack, calling it "acting" and referring to Khan as "garbage."

Meanwhile, police have arrested the alleged attacker, Shariful Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national residing illegally in India. Investigations are ongoing as political and social tensions escalate.

Minister Questions the Attack

Maharashtra Ports Minister Nitesh Rane has made controversial comments over the incident, questioning its authenticity. Rane told the media, “I doubted if he had been stabbed... or if he was acting. He was dancing while walking out of the hospital.” He also called Khan 'garbage,' and said he faked the whole thing.

The minister also linked the attack to illegal immigration, stating, Look at what Bangladeshis are doing in Mumbai. They entered Saif Ali Khan's house. Earlier they used to stand at road crossings... now they have started entering houses. Maybe he came to take him (Mr. Khan) away. It is good... garbage should be taken away.

Opposition Leaders Targeted

Rane also hit out at NCP leaders Jitendra Awhad and Supriya Sule, accusing that they only exhibit concern when, “any Khan, like Shah Rukh Khan or Saif Ali Khan, gets hurt.” He further alleged, “When a Hindu actor like Sushant Singh Rajput is tortured, no one comes forward to say anything… Have you ever seen them worrying about any Hindu artist?”

Reactions to the Comments

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar dismissed Rane’s remarks, saying If he has something on his mind, he can tell the Home Department.” Pawar confirmed that Shehzad had been arrested and said that the truth about the particular case was still being looked for. Another opponent, Sanjay Nirupam, previously with Congress, followed a similar line to dubiously question the extent of Khan’s injuries. “The way Saif came out... it seemed nothing happened six days ago.

Legal Developments

The suspect named Shehzad is said to have confessed to the crime, stating, “…haan, Maine hi kiya hai (yes, I did it).” However, his lawyer said the accusations had been fabricated as Khan is popular, adding no proof had been shown to prove Shehzad was indeed a Bangladeshi citizen. Police investigations are still going on.
