Four Attackers Detonated the Vehicle in Quetta After Engaging Paramilitary Forces in an Intense Shootout

Four attackers have reportedly detonated a car outside the paramilitary headquarters in Quetta, Pakistan. According to the nearby police officials, the massive blast killed ten people and injured thirty others.

The assailants blasted the vehicle after engaging the paramilitary forces in the shootout. Shortly after the explosion, ambulances arrived at the location and took the wounded to the hospital.

At Least 10 People Were Killed in the Bomb Blast

The surrounding CCTV cameras captured some footage of the incident. As per the visuals, a car stood in front of the paramilitary headquarters and exploded all of a sudden. The blast shattered the windows of nearby buildings and houses, and the cars parked nearby were also damaged.

However, the mastermind behind this attack has not yet been discovered, nor has any group claimed responsibility. This shocking attack comes after a suicide bomber blew himself up in Quetta. The incident reportedly took place outside a stadium when the supporters of a nationalist party were leaving the rally. 13 people were killed and 30 were severely injured in this attack.

What did the Balochistan Chief Minister Say?

Sarfraz Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, has condemned the attack and said that the attackers were killed by the Paramilitary Forces. Bugti mentioned, “Terrorists cannot break the nation’s resolve through cowardly acts, and the sacrifices of our people and security forces will not go in vain.” He further remarked that his government is committed to maintaining peace and ensuring the security of its people.

The History of Pakistan and Balochistan

Balochistan is one of the largest and least developed regions in Pakistan, pushing people in the area to start a movement to form an autonomous government. The power struggle has been ongoing for decades now.

The Pakistan army has killed over 782 people in Balochistan, fighting the insurgency. In response to these attacks, the Baloch Liberation Army captured a train and killed off-duty troops. It is reported that over 430 personnel have been killed in these attacks since January.

Overall, the shocking explosion near the paramilitary headquarters in Quetta has raised questions over the safety of civilians. A similar incident occurred a few weeks before, when a suicide bomber killed thirteen people and injured over 30 people.
