A major Box Office Clash is brewing as Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge are both slated for release on March 19.

The development has sparked industry buzz, especially after reports claimed Yash is ‘irked’ with the makers for not informing him about the date overlap.

According to Variety India, a source stated that Yash is confident about Toxic and does not feel threatened by Dhurandhar 2. “‘Toxic’ was officially announced three years ago,” the source said, adding that fans have long awaited his return to the big screen.

Yash Reportedly Upset Over Lack of Communication

The source further revealed that the release date for Toxic was locked in March last year. If Dhurandhar 2 was targeting the same date, “they should have at least given him a courtesy call,” the source said. The comment hints at differences in communication culture between the southern and Hindi film industries.

Despite the tension, Yash is reportedly unwilling to postpone. The decision reflects confidence in content and strong fan backing following the massive success of KGF: Chapter 2.

Inside Toxic and Dhurandhar 2

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic features Kiara Advani and Nayanthara in key roles. The period gangster drama recently faced controversy over a teaser scene, with reports of a complaint filed with the CBFC.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2, helmed by Aditya Dhar, continues the story of Ranveer Singh’s character. Early reactions to its teaser have been strong, with some viewers already calling it the frontrunner.

Confidence vs Momentum

The box office clash between these two films differs from typical release schedule conflicts because it involves regional pride and popular actors. The upcoming film Toxic marks Yash's return to the screen, while Dhurandhar 2 continues the story of its successful established franchise.

The result will be determined by the combination of audience feedback and the start of the first weekend. The upcoming March 19 event will create new market conditions that will affect both pan-India films and Hindi sequel movies, making this conflict one of the most anticipated battles of the entire year.
