Dogecoin or Shiba Inu: Which One is More Popular Among Celebrities?

Both Dogecoin and Shiba Inu has their points to stay in the crypto market

Dogecoin

Dogecoin

Cryptocurrencies are the latest trending topics everywhere across the globe these days. Most of the top cryptocurrencies are in the news every single day whether it is Bitcoin, Dogecoin or Shiba Inu. While talking only about Doge coin and Shiba Inu, the one thing that is most common in these cryptos is that they are both based on the small-bear-like breed of Japanese dogs. And both of them are equally popular on social media networking sites. They have a great fan community as well as celebrities backing them.

Dogecoin

Dogecoin was originally started with a joke that intended to mock the way that people invested in cryptocurrencies they didn’t understand.  But this cryptocurrency has attracted a lot of attention in the crypto market. While on the other side, the new investors also found the not-too-serious approach easier to engage with rather than with other serious cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Dogecoin remains to be the focus of the mainstream with great celebrities showing their interest in it.

Shiba Inu

Shiba Inu uses a lot of the same language as that of Doge coin, but the thing is that it was not created as fun. This cryptocurrency was created to ride on Dogecoin’s success and make money. Shiba Inu presents Buterin as a ‘friend of Shib’ and gives the crypto legend 50% of its tokens as a marketing stunt. It dedicated a whole page to ETH founder Vitalik Buterin and his decision to donate US$1 billion worth of SHIB to India’s COVID relief fund.

Dogecoin vs Shiba Inu

  • Dogecoin can create 10,000 new coins per block and each block requires about one minute to be filled. But on the other hand, Shiba Inu does not follow a PoW protocol.
  • Dogecoin was built as a joke and was treated as such for the longest time, but Shiba Inu is a serious coin.
  • Dogecoin has managed to amass a lot of high-profile supporters and many wonders but Shiba Inu does not really have high-esteemed supporters that can influence its price.
  • While coming to the retail interest, both seem to be on the same page.

Which is more popular: Dogecoin or Shiba Inu?

Dogecoin has gained popularity with the tweets of the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk. He has invested about US$1.5 billion on Doge and revealed that the investment is made for his son’s future. Rapper Snoop Dogg is keen on Doge coin, he also revealed that he has invested in the meme cryptocurrency. Shark Tank says that investing in Doge coin is the best way to teach children about economics and the value of money. The American rapper Miles Park McCollum is also a proud owner of Doge coin. And Australian Adult star Angela White is also among the first ones to hold Dogecoin since 2014.

While on the other side, Shiba Inu has gained momentum slowly in the last month. But most of the celebrities are on the Dogecoin side itself.

Which is the best?

Dogecoin is great for people who are looking for less risk in the altcoin market while tampering with their expectations. Shiba Inu is a wild bet with lots of short-term opportunities. Both have their own weak and strong points. So both of these cryptocurrencies are good for investors unless they invest in the right time and place.
