Anil Ambani’s Luxury Mumbai Residence Worth Rs 3,716 Crore Attached by ED in Reliance Communications Bank Fraud Investigation
The Enforcement Directorate just took a very big step against Anil Ambani today. They have seized his luxury house in Mumbai, valued at 3,716 crore rupees. This house is called Abode and it is located in the Pali Hill area. The building is 66 metres high and has 17 floors. The ED used the anti-money laundering law to take this action. They say this is linked to a huge bank fraud case at his company, Reliance Communications. It is a very serious situation for the businessman.
This is not the first time his assets have been touched in this case. Now the total value of all seized items is about 15,700 crore rupees. This week the Bombay High Court also said that banks can take action against him. They were looking at rules about how fraud is classified by the RBI. Ambani’s lawyers tried to stop this but the court said no. They felt the earlier orders were not right and needed to be changed. The legal pressure is growing every single day for the chairman.
Anil Ambani has to go back to the ED office for more questions on February 26. He already talked to them once in August last year. He told the Supreme Court that he would cooperate with the officers. He also said he was not doing the daily work at the company because he was a non-executive director.
