Mika-Singh-Demands-Diljit’s-Apology-Over-Sardaar-Ji-3-–-Called-Him-'Fake'

Diljit’s Pre-Shot Film With Pakistani Actor Triggers Uproar, Mika Demands Edits and Public Apology: Scene Removal Goes Viral

Singer Mika Singh has reignited a political firestorm in the entertainment world by calling out Diljit Dosanjh over the upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. The reason is rooted in the film's casting. Pakistani actor Hania Aamir plays the lead opposite Diljit.

With India-Pakistan tensions rising after the Pahalgam terror attack, Mika has demanded a public apology from Diljit and the removal of all "objectionable scenes" from the movie.

Mika Calls Diljit’s Decision Irresponsible

The post from Mika came shortly after the trailer launch. He criticised Diljit’s decision, calling it "irresponsible" and accusing him of disregarding national sentiment. In an Instagram note, Mika said, “We all make mistakes. But when the nation's dignity is involved, sorry is the strongest word. Diljit must apologise and fix this.”

Film Bodies Echo Mika’s Concerns

The comment sparked quick reactions across film circles. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also expressed disapproval, calling the casting a sign of insensitivity toward Indian emotions.

Their concern stems from recent cross-border violence, especially India’s Operation Sindoor that followed the April attack in Pahalgam. Since then, several Pakistani social media accounts, including Hania Aamir’s, have become inaccessible in India.

Diljit Defends His Stance Amid Controversy

Despite the growing backlash, Diljit Dosanjh has defended his position. Speaking to BBC Asian Network, he explained that the film was shot and completed before current tensions flared.

Due to the controversy, the film will not see a domestic release. It is instead scheduled to release overseas, including in Pakistan, on June 27.

Mika Labels Diljit as “Fake” Post-Tour

Mika’s criticism of Diljit extended beyond the film. He labeled the singer-actor “fake” and accused him of disappearing after a successful Indian tour. Fans, according to Mika, feel betrayed and insulted by this betrayal that came with engaging a Pakistani co-star.

A Larger Debate on Patriotism and Cultural Boundaries

Sardaar Ji 3 went beyond just cinema. It stirred debates on issues like patriotism, timing, and cultural boundaries that exist in cross-border collaborations.

With emotions being this high and with the release date just around the corner, Diljit's response would certainly affect not just the fate of this film but also his standing within Indian entertainment.
