Venkatesh Iyer & Ravi Bishnoi Lead 16 Capped Indian Stars in IPL 2026 Auction List
The auction list for the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League has been finalized with over 350 players and is set to take place in Abu Dhabi on 16 December. These players, who were reportedly shortlisted from a total of 1390 players, are going to compete for the 77 available slots distributed across 10 teams.
Base Prices and Top Indian Names in the Rs. 2 Crore Bracket
The highest reserve price for the upcoming auction is set at Rs. 2 crore. A total of 40 prominent cricketers have opted to enter this premium bracket. This group includes a mix of both international and Indian capped players. Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi have listed themselves at the highest base price.
Venkatesh Iyer is a highly sought-after left-handed batting all-rounder. On the other hand, Ravi Bishnoi is a skillful wrist-spinner known for controlling the middle overs. Other well-known international names at Rs. 2 crore include Steve Smith, Cameron Green, and David Miller. Liam Livingstone, Devon Conway, and Rachin Ravindra.
Inclusion of Sarfaraz Khan, Prithvi Shaw, and Other Domestic Stars
Indian batters, Sarfaraz Khan and Prithvi Shaw, are named in the opening set of players. Both have fixed their base price at Rs. 75 lakh. However, they remained unsold in the previous full auction. Shaw has since shown renewed form in domestic cricket, while Sarfaraz has a strong first-class record but a modest T20 history.
The list also features several other domestic talents like Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani, who are priced at the lowest base price of Rs. 30 lakh. The top performers in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, Kunal Chandela and Ashok Kumar, have also made it to the final list.
The IPL auction list for 2026 features 350 players for 77 available slots, including 16 capped Indian players like Venkatesh Iyer (Rs. 2 crore base price) and Sarfaraz Khan (Rs. 75 lakh). Given the intense competition for limited spots, it will be interesting to see which of these established Indian players will secure high-value contracts on 16 December.
