Horror-Comedy The Raja Saab Marks Prabhas’ Return, Outshines All Competitors Including Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar
During its incredible five-week run at the box office, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar smashed records by not only holding off new releases but also refusing to decline in revenues.
However, this streak ended, just like all wonderful things do. Clearly, Prabhas has to be the superstar to pull it off. After 35 days, ‘The Raja Saab’ has overtaken Dhurandhar as the top film at the Indian box office. The accomplishment, achieved before 10 am on the launch day, is indeed celebration time for fans.
Prabhas’ New Film Outperforms Expectations Immediately
Prabhas’ first movie in two years, ‘The Raja Saab,’ is a horror-comedy and marks the actor’s debut in this genre. Trade sources reported that the movie has earned more than Rs. 6 crore net before 10 am on Friday, the day of its release.
Only paid reviews on Thursday night and early morning shows generate this revenue. The total has exceeded Dhurandhar’s Thursday full-day earnings. This means that, until Jana Nayagan releases, The Raja Saab will undoubtedly be the new box office topper.
Will The Raja Saab Outshine Jana Nayagan This Week?
The Raja Saab has been released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions. The movie’s first-day domestic earnings have surpassed Rs. 6 crore. Meanwhile, Vijay Thalapathy’s Jana Nayagan has earned an extra 250 screens in Tamil Nadu after they postponed the movie. The Raja Saab may earn more in Tamil than anticipated if there isn’t any major Tamil movie release on Friday.
On Friday morning, Jana Nayagan received its CBFC certification, finally opening the door for its release. The movie is expected to hit theatres before Pongal (Wednesday), even though its producers haven’t made a formal announcement about the release date.
Prabhas is returning to the family entertainment genre with the film The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi. The cast also features Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani, and Zerina Wahab in key roles.
