Know everything about Wipro’s big announcement on advanced AI over the next three years

[12th July 2023] - Wipro, a leading global IT major, has unveiled its groundbreaking ai360 service and committed to investing $1 billion in artificial intelligence over the next three years. This strategic move aims to revolutionize industries by harnessing the power of generative AI, ushering in a new era of productivity and commercial opportunities.

Thierry Delaporte, CEO and Managing Director of Wipro expressed his enthusiasm for the development, stating, " Artificial Intelligence is a fast-moving field, especially with the emergence of generative AI; we expect a fundamental shift up ahead for all industries. New business models, new ways of working, and new challenges, too. This is exactly why Wipro’s ai360 ecosystem places responsible AI operations at the heart of all our AI work. It’s meant to empower our talent pool and be ubiquitous across all our operations, processes, and solutions for clients. We are ready for the AI-driven future!"

The ai360 ecosystem is an AI-first approach that builds upon Wipro's decade-long investments in artificial intelligence. It aims to integrate AI into every internal tool and solution while providing AI-enabled offerings to clients. The $1 billion investment will bolster Wipro's AI, data, and analytics capabilities and establish new consulting services to enable clients to embrace AI and unlock its complete potential.

Wipro will launch the GenAI seed Accelerator program to foster generative AI growth, which will equip startups focused on generative AI with essential training to become "enterprise ready."

Recognizing the importance of upskilling, Wipro has pledged to train approximately 250,000 employees on the fundamentals and responsible usage of AI within the next 12 months. Furthermore, employees in AI-focused roles will receive customized and continuous training to enhance their expertise.

This announcement follows closely after Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest software services company, revealed its plans to train 25,000 engineers on generative AI tools and certify them on Microsoft's Azure Open AI.
