WhatsApp Rolls Out Screenshot Blocking for Profile Pictures

WhatsApp is putting out a new privacy feature that prevents users from screenshotting other users' profile images.

Meta was seen testing the functionality in the app's beta version last month, and it is now being sent out in the stable channel to all Android devices.

Meta has yet to reveal the specifics of the screenshot block function for profile images. If you have this functionality, you will be unable to record the screen when seeing another user's profile photo.

Because the feature is yet to come in the iOS version of the app, iPhone users will be allowed to continue taking pictures of another user's profile image.

However, because the functionality has already been given out to Android smartphones, Meta is likely to follow up with an iOS version that includes the new capability.
