US Jury directs Google to pay $338.7 mn in Chromecast patent case

A Texas court has ruled that Google infringed upon a software developer's patent rights related to remote-streaming tech. 

Google has been ordered to pay $338.7 million in damages in the case.

The jury determined Google's Chromecast and other devices to be in violation of patents owned by Touchstream Technologies. 

These patents pertain to the technology of streaming videos from one screen to another.

Touchstream had alleged that Chromecast infringed 3 of its patents.
