Tesla May Encounter Labor Strikes In Sweden

A trade union in Sweden is pressuring Tesla to sign a collective bargaining agreement, a demand made by most of the country's employees.

Although Tesla doesn't have a manufacturing plant in Sweden, 130 members of the IF Metall union went on strike at seven service workshops for Tesla's electric cars.

Solidarity actions from other trade unions include dockworkers at major ports refusing to deliver Tesla vehicles and painting companies declaring their unwillingness to work on Tesla cars.

The Swedish Union for Service and Communications Employees plans to halt shipments to Tesla if an agreement isn't reached by November 20.

A former prime minister has encouraged Swedes to suspend Tesla purchases until an agreement is reached. Tesla has not yet commented on the situation.
