Sony Corporation Gets Hit by RANSOMEDVC Ransomware Attack

The notorious RANSOMEDVC ransomware organization claims to have infiltrated Sony Organization Corporation, a Japanese multinational business.

This claim was made via listings on the gang's clearnet and dark web channels, where the group claimed total infiltration of all Sony systems.

The ransomware organization claimed to have "successfully compromised all of Sony's systems."

The RANSOMEDVC ransomware organization has adopted a different strategy than the conventional ransomware methodology of locking the victim's machine, hindering IT activities, and demanding payment for the decryption key.

Instead of demanding ransom, the organization has stated its desire to monetize the stolen material, citing Sony's apparent unwillingness to cooperate with their requests.
