Meizu to Stop Making Phones and Invest in AI Instead

Phone manufacturers are beginning to focus on AI, but one business has concluded that phones no longer make sense and are entirely invested in AI for the future.

Meizu has announced its intention to exit the smartphone market and focus only on artificial intelligence.

Meizu intends to focus on AI-powered operating systems designed for mobile devices, and it plans to deliver its first AI-enabled hardware product in 2024.

Meizu has demonstrated its hardware prowess with phones launched worldwide, but the market no longer tempts the business.

The company's CEO said that consumers take more than four years to buy a new phone, which appears to have encouraged the brand to shift its attention to AI in the coming years.
