IBM's Expansion in Ireland to Introduce 800 New AI Positions

IBM aims to employ up to 800 additional workers in Ireland to help create innovative software powered by AI technology.

According to state investment agency IDA Ireland on Thursday, it is the most significant job announcement in the country.

With 3,000 employees, the US-based IT software and consultancy services business is one of Ireland's top international employers.

The company will increase positions in research and development, digital sales, and consulting.

Ireland is heavily reliant on foreign multinational corporations, which have nearly quadrupled their workforce over the previous decade.
