Google Tweaks AI Overviews Following Challenging Launch

Google is making modifications to its AI Overviews after the artificial intelligence-powered search function returned "odd and erroneous" results.

AI Overviews were unveiled last month at Google's annual I/O developer conference.

When consumers use Google Search to look for information on specific topics, a box of AI-generated text displays at the top of the results, along with connections to external websites.

Traditional search results are shown underneath the AI Overviews, indicating a significant shift in how Google distributes information.

Alex Joseph, a Google technology expert, told ABC Audio that AI Overviews can answer more difficult inquiries than regular Google Search.
