Google Offers Payment to Small Publishers for Testing the New GenAI Tool

According to papers obtained by ADWEEK, Google began a secret program last month for a small number of independent publishers.

The program offers beta access to an unreleased generative artificial intelligence platform in return for analytics and comments.

As part of the deal, the publishers are required to use the suite of tools to create a set volume of content for 12 months.

In exchange, news organizations receive a monthly stipend equal to a five-figure sum per year, as well as the ability to create material relevant to their readership at no expense.

The beta tools enable under-resourced publications to create aggregated material more effectively by indexing previously published reports produced by other organizations.
