Cybersecurity Firm Reports Leak of 750 million Telecom Users' Data

According to a government official, the Department of Telecom has requested that service operators conduct a security examination of their system.

This is done in response to accusations made by a cybersecurity firm that data from 750 million Indian users was exposed.

CloudSEK, a cybersecurity business, claims that its analysts discovered that hackers are selling a 1.8 terabyte database of 750 million Indian mobile users on the dark web.

CloudSEK said that the hacker denied any participation in a breach and claimed to have received the data through undisclosed asset work within police enforcement channels.

The officer, however, stated that telecom operators had unofficially informed the department that the stolen information was mentioned in the ClouSEK report.
