Bournemouth Uni researchers to create AI film

Bournemouth University researchers are investigating the creative and legal implications of using AI in media production, focusing on gen AI tools and their impact.

The multidisciplinary team includes experts in post-production, screenwriting, computer animation, and law, collaborating with partners from the University of Michigan, USA, and Zhejiang University, China.

Gen AI tools will be utilized throughout the production process, with workshops to engage stakeholders and provide hands-on experience in creating an AI-generated film.

Ethical and legal challenges, including copyright ownership, job security, and media representation, are central to the project's focus, aiming to foster responsible AI usage.

Funded by AHRC, the research seeks to contribute to the development of responsible AI practices across sectors, recognizing AI's transformative impact.
